Question by vis: when you go on line and check out the sex offenders?

how would a person who has no access to their files other than looking up sex offenders on line..( to see how many live near them)be able to tell if the person was just someone who had a under age girl friend or just a rapist?.i clicked on the FBI .com and they have a web site..and there is 2 pages with in a one mile Radius of where i live

it tells you the crime they did and how dangerous they are
i used another website
since i live in texas i used:

just look up your state and put registered sex offenders
